While I’m on my Polaroid kick, this is a fascinating article from Mental Floss about a man who took a Polaroid photo a day from March 31, 1979 until October 25, 1997.

That’s a neat (yet sad) series. I just purchased a Polaroid 230 Land camera and I’m on the hunt for film. Have you found a source in the KC area?

Leslie, I actually don’t know much about the Polaroid 230, but I’m sure if you call some local photo stores, they can point you in the right direction. I know most of the film is discontinued and it’ll all be gone by early next year, so you’ll have to find a stockpile somewhere. Pretty sad! The camera I’ve been using takes Polaroid 600 film which is still fairly easy to find at Walgreens or most other photo stores. You’ll have to let me know what you find and I’d love to see what photos you shoot!

Dave–there’s an initiative on Flickr called Project 365, where people take a photo every day and tag it “project365″ to share with others. I’m not in on it, but I know others who are. Maybe if you ever end your Flickr holdout you can participate

Dave, I did find an online source–and Fuji actually makes a film that (I believe) will work in this camera. I’m at a little bit of a disadvantage not having the owner’s manual but I may just order a single pack and see if I can make this work. I only paid $2 for the camera so I’m not out much if it doesn’t!
