This is a panoramic photo of Lawrence, KS taken from the viewing deck of the Oread hotel. I think it really shows how green it is around here in the summer and the KU Campus really is beautiful. If you have the chance, head up to the top of the hotel (drinks start at 4:00) and take it in yourself! It really is impressive.

I was looking for an excuse to try Photoshop’s photomerge function and was pretty impressed with the job it did. Not flawless by any means, but it found and blended the content as well as I ever could by hand. My only complaint was that it was a 360 panorama, but I wasn’t able to tell it where I wanted the center point to be. This is probably a better tool to use for compositing 2-3 photos together within a smaller viewing angle.

I rarely do product/studio photography, illness mostly because I prefer a most candid style of shooting, but I recently was asked to do a shoot for a jewelry retailer so I gave it a try. The client was pleased and I really liked how they turned out!

Design Books on a Shelf

Hello everyone! Happy 2011!

Now, viagra 60mg I’m not usually one to make New Year’s resolutions (or write really wordy blog posts!), artificial but one thing I’ve been working hard at so far this year is improving my organization. This included a good old fashioned office cleaning and purging of old documents and books, ed but I also a digital rearrangement as well. After reading Frank Chimero’s great post about his workflow, I thought that I might share a few of the new things I’ve tried in case someone else finds them useful. It’s likely boring, technical reading, but I’ll try to be brief!

In light of all of the photos that are blowing up the web (and I love them, web so don’t get me wrong!), try I went out to shoot a few Polaroids on the neighborhood playground the other day with the SX-70. I forget sometimes that you need a fair amount of heat for the colors to come out right with Polaroid film. I’ll end up sticking the photo down my shirt as it develops, just to keep it warm enough. That’s the adventure of Polaroid film, I suppose.
